Autosomal STR allele frequencies for the CODIS system from a large random population sample in Chile.
The thirteen autosomal STR loci of the CODIS system were typed from DNA of 732 unrelated male individuals sampled from different locations in Chile. This is the first report of allele frequencies for the thirteen STRs loci defined in the CODIS system from the Chilean population.
متن کاملMutation rate estimation for 15 autosomal STR loci in a large population from Mainland China
STR, short tandem repeats, are well known as a type of powerful genetic marker and widely used in studying human population genetics. Compared with the conventional genetic markers, the mutation rate of STR is higher. Additionally, the mutations of STR loci do not lead to genetic inconsistencies between the genotypes of parents and children; therefore, the analysis of STR mutation is more suite...
متن کامل26-Locus Y-STR typing in a Bhutanese population sample.
26 Y chromosome short tandem repeat (STR) loci were amplified in a sample of 856 unrelated males from Bhutan, using two multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays. The first multiplex is the Y-STR 20plex described by Butler et al. [J.M. Butler, R. Schoske, P.M. Vallone, M.C. Kline, A.J. Redd, M.F. Hammer, A novel multiplex for simultaneous amplification of 20 Y chromosome STR markers, For...
متن کاملAutosomal STR variation in five Austronesian populations.
Human population characteristics at the genetic level are integral to both forensic biology and population genetics. This study evaluates biparental microsatellite markers in five Austronesian-speaking groups to characterize their intra- and interpopulation differences. Genetic diversity was analyzed using 15 short tandem repeat (STR) loci from 338 unrelated individuals from 5 Pacific islands p...
متن کاملAutosomal STR analyses in native Amazonian tribes suggest a population structure driven by isolation by distance.
Eleven short tandem repeat loci (CSF1PO, D3S1358, D5S818, D7S820, D8S1179, D13S317, D16S539, D18S51, D21S11, TH01, and TPOX) were investigated in 232 individuals from 6 Amazonian native tribes (Tiriyó, Waiãpi, Zoé, Urubu-Kaapor, Awa-Guajá, and Parakanã). We added the new data to a database that included five previously typed native populations from the same area (Wai Wai, Gavião, Zoró, Suruí, a...
